Privacy Policy

Effective October 3, 2026

RxEvidence.com is run by the RxEvidence editorial team, led by a licensed pharmacist. This page explains what the site’s tools collect, who processes it, and how long it is kept.

Please don’t enter patient information

RxEvidence is not a HIPAA covered entity and is not designed to receive protected health information. Don’t enter patient names, dates of birth, addresses, record numbers, or anything else that could identify a person. Ask questions in general terms, for example “a 78-year-old on warfarin” rather than a named patient.

What each tool collects

Ask a Clinical Question: your question and the answer generated are stored so we can check accuracy and improve the tool. To answer, your question is sent to Anthropic (the company that makes Claude) and to public databases run by the National Library of Medicine (PubMed, DailyMed, RxNorm, LactMed) and the FDA.

Drug Interaction Checker: the drug names you enter and the result are stored the same way and sent to the same services.

Drug-Condition Checker: the conditions and drugs you enter stay in your browser. They are not sent to our server or stored.

Pill Identifier: if you upload a photo, it is sent to Anthropic to read the imprint, color, and shape, then deleted. Photos are not stored. Typed searches use a pill database built from FDA labeling.

Price Finder: drug names are sent to Cost Plus Drugs and the National Library of Medicine to look up prices and drug details. No personal information is collected, and we don’t ask for your ZIP code.

Contact form: your name, email, and message are used only to reply to you.

How long we keep it

Stored questions, answers, and interaction checks are deleted automatically after 90 days. To limit abuse, the site briefly keeps a coded version of your IP address for a few minutes. It is not stored with your questions.

Who processes data

Anthropic processes questions and photos under its commercial API terms (https://www.anthropic.com/legal/privacy). Public lookups go to the National Library of Medicine, the FDA, and Cost Plus Drugs. The site is hosted by IONOS. We don’t sell your information, and we don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.

Cookies

The site uses only the cookies WordPress and our page cache need to work.
